Connect your own machine
Serve a Project folder from a workstation or GPU server with witwin host and open it from Studio or the web app through My machines.
witwin host serves a Project folder from any machine you can log in to,
such as a lab workstation or a GPU server, and makes it available under
My machines in Studio and in the web app. The machine connects out to
WiTwin, so it needs no open port or VPN.
Start a host#
On the machine that has the Project:
witwin host path/to/projectThe first run asks you to sign in. On a machine without a browser it shows a
device code to confirm from another device. Add --init to make the folder a
Project if it is not one yet.
Keep the command running while you work on the Project.
Availability
witwin host ships with the WiTwin server package, which is not on a
public package index yet. This guide describes the beta; installation steps
will be added when the package is published.
Open it#
In Studio, open the Projects list's More menu and choose My machines.... Pick the machine; the Project opens like a local one.
Options#
| Option | Effect |
|---|---|
--headless | No prompts or banner, for services and scripts |
--no-relay | Serve on this machine only, without connecting to WiTwin |
--attach URL | Forward to a Project server that is already running |
--plugin-path PATH | Add a local Plugin folder; repeatable |
--no-plugins | Start without Plugins |

witwin logout and witwin whoami manage the stored sign-in.
